Julian Weyer

Complex, variant-rich products run through Julian Weyer's career like a red thread: car lifts, compressors, workpiece clamping devices, grippers, automation components, cars and more.

Seen from many different perspectives — sometimes from sales, product marketing or order-based engineering, sometimes as a SAP module owner, sometimes as an internal and now an external PLM consultant. But always with a curious look beyond the boundaries of his own field:

Julian Weyer was born in Heilbronn and graduated from Heilbronn University with a degree in production and logistics (Dipl.-Ing. (FH)). He did his civilian service in the ambulance service of the German Red Cross. During his studies and beyond, he was also a volunteer in the youth organisation Rotaract. Today he works as a consultant at BHC / PROSTEP and is an expert in PLM, ALM and variant management.

in sales, partially and fully automated creation of quotation items and pricing

Built and led a permanent team maintaining the configuration models as a business partner for the product areas
advised the product areas on designing products for configurability
ensured end-to-end process consistency by setting standards and aligning with all process and functional departments involved
SAP introduction: responsible for the governance of material masters and bills of materials. Consolidated the requirements of all departments
created a unified set of rules to maximise master data quality. Enabled end-to-end process automation
Responsible for the migration of product master data from the legacy ERP to SAP in a complex, multi-stage migration project
despite poor, unstructured data quality in the legacy system, migration completed successfully
